The Molecular Environmental Science Beamline is located at the Advanced Light Source of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and operated by the Chemical Sciences Division. There are two branchlines, one for microscopy (scanning transmission x-ray microscopy), and the other for spectroscopy. The spectroscopy branchline has two permanent endstations and can accommodate external user endstations. User proposals are evaluated twice each year. Details on becoming a user can be found at http://www-als.lbl.gov/. Scientists interested in writing a proposal should contact the staff to learn more about the scientific capabilities of this beamline.
